You are cordially invited...

This Saturday, December 11th 2010, we are hosting a breakfast in our new home!
It will be an open house breakfast, beginning at 9:30am and continuing throughout the morning.

Our family ~ Thanksgiving 2010
Part two:  Since I haven't posted in a week (and a lot of people are informing me of this gross neglect) I will add an update here.  Last week Eloise had checkups in Tacoma on Monday and Wednesday, followed by her eight week checkup in Olympia on Friday.  She did very well at all her appointments.  At her eight week checkup, Eloise Joy weighed an incredible six pounds, eleven ounces!  This means she's gaining about a half pound each week!  She also received her two month shots!  Ouch!

Part three:  We are always looking for new recipes to try.  If you have one you think we might like, please share it with us.  If you have eaten something exceptional at a restaurant, please tell us about it.    We want your ideas for breakfasts, appetizers, main courses, beach food, etc!

Louise,
That sounds fun on Saturday.

I just made this sweet coffee cake yesterday and it was scrumptious! The nieces and nephews loved it. (I got it off the internet, but substituted vanilla yogurt for plain - since that was what I had in stock :-) and of course I had to add more topping - they never have you make nearly enough!) Below are the amounts I used.

Yogurt Coffee Cake

1 stick butter
1 c. white sugar
1/4 c brown sugar
2 eggs
2 c. flour (enriched Costco kind)
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 c. vanilla yogurt
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream 1/4 pound butter and sugars. Add 2 eggs, beat well. Sift flour with 1 teaspoon baking powder and 1 teaspoon baking soda. Add dry ingredients alternately with yogurt to egg mixture. Add 1 teaspoon vanilla. Pour 1/2 batter in greased 9" x 12" glass baking dish.

TOPPING:

1 c. brown sugar
3 tsp. cinnamon

Cover with 1/2 topping. Add rest of batter and cover with rest of topping. Bake 30 minutes at 350 degrees. (not convection)
I took it out while it was still moist so it wouldn't be dry at all. (You might want to cook it a few minutes more, but we liked it this way ;-) )

See you soon, Grace K

I hope you take rain checks. It is just a little too far on short notice! I love your kitchen! But your little girl is the best part of your new house.

Is Eloise waving to us? It sure looks like it! :)
I will have to check out all the home improvements when I am up next. It seems like it all came together quickly, but I'm sure you feel otherwise. :)
Thanks for giving us an update on the sweetie. 6lbs is really good!
